Is your price competitive?

The websites tutors.com and thumbtack.com show that the average cost for a private math tutor is about $55/hr (this cost is about the same for physics tutors), and the cost can range from $25/hr to $80/hr or more. My rate for online individual tutoring is $55/hr to $60/hr, which is at the mid-range for price. What sets me apart from a low cost tutor is that I focus on high school and college level math and physics, hold a master’s degree in physics and have 5 years of teaching/tutoring experience, and I’m able to convey my knowledge in such a way that students are able to make much more progress than if they worked with another tutor. I will enable the student to achieve their academic goals and be much more effective than a college student with no experience charging $25/hr. However, if you have a tight budget, my online group tutoring rates are quite affordable and range between $25/hr to $45/hr.
