Frequently Asked Questions
What is your tutoring process?
My approach is to stress critical thinking skills and not just memorization. It's important to know the list of steps necessary to solve a problem, but it's even more important to know why each step is needed and how one example problem can be used to understand many other problems. This approach and my tutoring expertise will ensure that the student will make great strides in math and physics and achieve their academic goals!
Before each session, I will have the student send me the course material they would like to cover during the session. This allows me to review the material beforehand and be well prepared for each session. If the student does not have work to go over or they would like supplementary material, then I will provide material for the session. We will then meet for tutoring online using Zoom or in-person at a desired location (student’s home, college, library, coffee shop, etc.). During the session, I will go through the problems the student wants to cover, identify any gaps in their understanding, and show ways to close those gaps. At the end of the session, we will review what the student has learned, plan what material to cover in the upcoming session, and then schedule the next session.
